Mission Statement
SDDL is an organization of lawyers engaged in the defense of civil litigants. Its objectives: to provide a forum for mutual education through the exchange of ideas with counsel in San Diego County; to promote cordial relations among its members; to promote improved public perception of its members through service to the community; and to maintain the standards of professional conduct.

Competition
Mock Trial
Each year, San Diego Defense Lawyers hosts a national law school mock trial competition — giving future trial lawyers the chance to argue both plaintiff and defense sides of a civil case in San Diego Superior Court before members of the local bench and bar. Awards go to the top teams and to top individual performers across opening, direct, cross, and closing.
